Thor Hurricane 29L
Couples and small families are who the 29L suits: the shortest Hurricane, with a wall slide, king bed and outside kitchen. Thor's entry gas Class A sits on the Ford F-53 with the 7.3L V8, and auto-leveling jacks, an 1,800 W inverter and a 5.5 kW generator come standard. Windsport is the identical coach under a second name. Around $222,000.

What owners report
Drawn from 8 owners' accounts of the Thor Hurricane, mostly 2020–2025 units. It covers the whole Thor Hurricane line, not only this floorplan. Nobody here has camped in it; this is what people who bought one say.
Tall owners single out the Hurricane's ceiling and shower. A 6'6" owner bought a used 2022 29M because few motorhomes had enough headroom and stands in its shower with no trouble; a 6'4", 315 lb owner chose the 2025 34R for its 30-by-36-inch mid-bath shower, larger than most gas coaches offer.
The same 29M owner, who once believed every brand had the same quality problems, now tells people to avoid Thor after finding three-quarters of the screws missing from the slide-out roof. A 2025 34R arrived with four warranty items, the worst a generator that would not draw fuel unless the gas cap was open; when the transfer switch failed the day before a three-week trip, the dealer installed a loaner within two hours while it sorted out the claim. Other owners found an oven door's glass shattered in storage on a coach under a year old and bubbling, splintering wallpaper under a cab window on a 2020.
Electrical faults are the other recurring complaint on 2022 and 2023 coaches: a house battery that burst within a month of purchase, a chassis battery that won't charge on shore power and a leveling pump that keeps running after the jacks retract.
What owners like
- +Headroom and shower size suit tall owners, including a 6'6" owner who stands in the shower and a 6'4" owner who fits the 34R's 30-by-36 shower.
- +Owners pick the floorplans for family features like bunks, an overhead drop-down bed and a bedroom door that closes off a workspace.
Common complaints
- −Factory fit and finish is poor, with missing slide-roof screws, a torn slide awning at delivery, shattered oven glass in storage and wall damage under a window.
- −Electrical problems turn up on 2022 and 2023 coaches, from a failed house battery to a chassis battery that won't charge and a leveling pump that won't shut off.
