The Thor Twist 2T is a budget-minded entry into the popular compact Class B world, built on the Ram ProMaster gas chassis. Its appeal is straightforward: it drives like a tall van, parks almost anywhere, and gives you a self-contained campervan — galley, wet bath, tanks, house power, and sleeping for up to four — for thousands less than the premium ProMaster competition. For buyers who want van life without Sprinter or top-tier Winnebago money, that value proposition is the whole story.

Living with it is where the budget shows. On the road the gas V6 ProMaster is easy to maneuver and friendly in cities and parks, but it's not powerful and gets buzzy on grades, and fuel economy trails the diesel-based vans. Inside, Thor's well-documented QC reputation is the main caution: owners across the brand's ProMaster Class Bs report flaking fake-leather upholstery, loose wallpaper, plumbing routed to the wrong tanks or misaligned with access holes, water-heater O-ring leaks, and electrical gremlins like chafed wiring causing the generator to self-start. None of it is necessarily dealbreaking, but it points to rushed assembly that owners end up sorting out, and four-season comfort lags the better-insulated rivals.

The Twist 2T is for the value-focused buyer who wants a maneuverable, do-anything van, can live with cheaper materials, and ideally has the patience (or a good dealer) to chase down early QC issues. The classic cross-shop is the Winnebago Travato and Solis PX, also ProMaster-based: the Thor undercuts the Solis PX by roughly $18k, but the Winnebagos pull ahead on the things you feel daily — Truma Combi heat, real insulation, smarter off-grid energy architecture, and better fit and finish. If price is the priority the Twist wins; if long-haul refinement and durability matter more, the extra money for a Winnebago is what most owners say they'd spend.
