Grand Design Reflection 345RLTS

Rear living and three slides make this a roomy couples trailer, and it is the only rear-living plan in the 2027 Reflection travel trailer lineup. It succeeds the 315RLTS and keeps the line's Arctic 4-Season protection with heated holding tanks.

What owners report

Drawn from 14 owners' accounts of the Grand Design Reflection, mostly 2018–2026 units. It covers the whole Grand Design Reflection line, not only this floorplan. Nobody here has camped in it; this is what people who bought one say.

Two very different ownership stories come out of the 2021–2023 builds. Owners living full time in a 2021 and in a 28-foot fifth wheel for six years, and a 2020 297RSTS owner with more than 30,000 towing miles, report few or no issues beyond a toilet seal or a backflow valve. Against that, a 2023 fifth wheel owner logged 34 documented problems in 20 months, from detached fascia to a fridge that came off its mount, and a 2022 312BHTS owner calls theirs a money pit, with Grand Design customer service reps changing so often they had to start over each time.

One 2021 28BH owner found broken welds, including at the pin box, and spongy floors; two friends with the same problem had $9,000 and $24,000 repairs covered by warranty.

The four-season label drew complaints at both ends of the thermometer: a 2022 owner in Massachusetts paid about $12,000 after the tankless heater and black tank froze, and a full-timer in Texas found the air conditioning could not keep up in summer.

What owners like

  • +Several full-timers report years of living in one with only minor, owner-fixable issues, from a stationary 2021 to a 28-foot fifth wheel lived in for six years.
  • +Owners pulling Reflection fifth wheels with three-quarter-ton trucks say they tow well: a gas F-250 on a 9,500 lb Reflection 150, mountains included, and a Ram 2500 that pulls one like a champ.
  • +Owners who have had other brands rank the Reflection ahead of them: one over the Jayco and Coachmen Clipper they owned, another over their Keystone Bullet.

Common complaints

  • −Some newer owners describe dozens of defects and slow or shifting factory support, including 34 documented issues in 20 months on a 2023.
  • −Axle trouble shows up on newer units: one Reflection 150 owner had a bent axle wearing tires, and a 2022 owner was quoted $2,000 for two new axles.
  • −Fridges are a weak point, from a 2021 unit that failed after a year to an inverter that never powered the residential fridge on a 2022.
  • −Temperature extremes are hard going: a Texas full-timer says the air conditioning could not keep up in summer and it was tough to stay warm in winter, and a 2022 four-season unit froze in Massachusetts.

Questions owners ask

Can a half-ton truck tow a Reflection 150 fifth wheel?+

Grand Design markets it that way, but an owner with a 9,500 lb Reflection 150 says even the salesman strongly advised against it. That owner tows with a gas F-250 and says it does well in the mountains.

  • Grand Design Reflection 345RLTS · 38.8 ft long · 11′11″ tall
Drawn to one scale from each camper's listed length and, where the maker publishes it, its exterior height. Outlines are typical for the camper type, not traced from this model. The figure is a 6 ft person. The dashed blue line is 25 ft, the length about 93% of national park campgrounds accept.

Cold-weather build: Maker lists 'Arctic 4-Season Protection' as a Reflection feature and cites third-party cold testing 'from ZERO to 100+ degrees'
