What owners report
Drawn from 9 owners' accounts of the Forest River R-Pod, mostly 2018–2025 units. It covers the whole Forest River R-Pod line, not only this floorplan. Nobody here has camped in it; this is what people who bought one say.
An owner who has had two R-Pods puts it plainly: Forest River packs a lot of amenities into a small trailer, the quality is decent for the money, and you should expect plenty of DIY repairs because the road shakes things loose. Others report better luck. A 2022 192 Hood River Edition owner has had no issues since buying new, and a couple who kept a 179 for six years never had trouble with its very large slide, which they credit for the roomy interior and slim towing profile.
The bigger floorplans get used as homes. A couple full-timing with two dogs in a 26-foot 202 calls it comfortable, with a private bedroom and bath; another 202 owner who also lives in theirs had leaks and broken parts fixed before the warranty expired and is now shopping for an extended warranty. A 2025 buyer paid about $20,500 for a 192 and had a few problems at delivery that the dealer and factory were addressing.
Owners of the smaller models, a 2021 193 and a 179 among them, describe them as easy to pull.
What owners like
- +The smaller models are light and easy to tow, and the slide lets the trailer stay narrow on the road.
- +Some owners report years without significant problems, including a 2022 192 bought new.
- +Owners of the larger 202 live in it full time and find it comfortable for two people and pets.
Common complaints
- −Owners expect to fix things themselves, as parts shake loose and new units arrive with a few problems.
- −Water problems show up on 2019–2023 units, from leaks fixed under warranty to weak cold-water pressure at every tap.
