The difference that matters

Two 25 ft compact motorhomes with nearly equal GVWRs, 11,000 lb and 11,030 lb, built on different chassis. The Wonder W24RTB rides a dual-rear-wheel Ford Transit with a 310 hp 3.5 L EcoBoost gas V6. The Isata 3 24FW uses a Mercedes Sprinter with a 2.0 L turbo diesel and is rated to tow 4,220 lb.

Layout is the other split. The Wonder has rear twin beds that convert to a king and a separate lavatory and shower. The Isata has a full-wall slide that opens up the living area, a queen bed, a booth dinette and a full bath, plus automatic four-point leveling and a quad-view camera system.

Power is close. The Wonder has a 270 Ah heated lithium battery and a 4.0 kW gas generator, with 440 W of solar optional. The Isata has 200 Ah of lithium, 200 W of solar, a 2,000 W inverter, a Flex Power 4000i LP generator and Truma diesel heat. The Wonder also stands 1.4 ft lower.
