The difference that matters
These two molded fiberglass trailers are close to identical on paper. Both have a 3,500 lb GVWR, the Casita weighs 2,530 lb dry and the Escape 2,640 lb, and lengths are 17 ft against 17.7 ft. Price is within a few hundred dollars: around $34,000 for the Casita and $34,720 for the Escape.
Sleeping is the clearest difference. The Casita Deluxe is a two-person plan with a fixed bed and a wet bath with shower. The Escape 17B sleeps four. The Escape has a light 296 lb hitch and holds 20 gal fresh, 26 gal gray and 13.2 gal black.
The Casita comes with a 100 Ah AGM battery, a 4.3 cu ft 12 V fridge and a high-lift axle on 15 in wheels, with a 300 Ah lithium, inverter and portable solar package optional.
