What owners report

Drawn from 10 owners' accounts of the Lance 1475, mostly 2017–2023 units. Nobody here has camped in it; this is what people who bought one say.

A solo full-timer has lived in a 2020 1475 for two years, including a run to Alaska and back and a winter near Portland, and reports never being wet or cold and sleeping well, crediting the full queen, dry bath and surprisingly large fridge. A 2019 owner who drags theirs at interstate speeds and down rutted forest roads has spent under $500 on parts in six years, and another owner is in a ninth season with no complaints about durability.

It tows with midsize vehicles. That full-timer weighed theirs at 4,464 lb with propane, full fresh water and gear, with 480 lb on the hitch of a Honda Passport, and a Colorado owner with an Andersen hitch reports no sway in about 4,000 miles and 14.5 mpg around 55 mph. At 7 feet wide, one couple's 1475 was measured and allowed through Zion's Mount Carmel tunnel without an escort.

The trade-off is space. A couple with the captain's chair version and no slide calls it a bit tight, and another moved up after three trouble-free years because it was too small with three dogs. Owners adding solar complain that the Solar on the Side port and factory wiring come with almost no documentation.

What owners like

+Owners report years of use with very little spent on repairs, on both early and recent units.
+Owners praise the layout for its size, with a queen bed, dry bath and a full kitchen in a 14-foot box.
+Midsize SUVs and trucks tow it well for owners who weighed and set it up properly.
+Owners use it in wet, cold winters without trouble.

Common complaints

−It is small for two people with pets or for long stretches inside, especially the no-slide version.
−The factory solar and Solar on the Side port come with little documentation, which makes upgrades guesswork.
