Northwood

Ron and Sherry Nash started Northwood Manufacturing in 1993 outside La Grande, in the Blue Mountains of northeastern Oregon. It is privately held, employs close to 400 people, and builds the Nash and Arctic Fox brands; the Nash family's second company, Outdoors RV, works from the same town and has its own page.

Northwood builds its own Ironhorse chassis and frames rather than buying them in, and the Arctic Fox NXT pairs that with aluminum framing, block foam insulation, heated tanks and thermal-pane windows for a four-season rating. The site carries five Northwood units; the three trailers are rated four-season by the maker. Travel trailers: the Nash 23CK and Arctic Fox NXT 25RB, both about 27 to 28 feet. Fifth wheel: the Arctic Fox NXT 295RK, 34 feet on a 16,300 lb GVWR. Truck campers: the Arctic Fox Camper 811, about 16.7 feet and 2,873 lb dry, and the longer 1140 at about 3,465 lb.
