The difference that matters

Weight and comfort pull in opposite directions here. The SylvanSport GO is a tent trailer at 840 lb dry with an 85 lb tongue, light enough for small cars, hybrids and EVs. Its tent pod opens to 6 ft 5 in of standing height and sleeps four, and when folded the 7 by 4 ft deck carries kayaks, bikes and cargo. It has no water or power systems as standard.

The Aliner Classic is a hard-sided A-frame at 1,725 lb with a 160 lb tongue, about twice the GO's weight. It comes with a heat-pump air conditioner, an 18,000 BTU furnace, a water heater, a 3.2 cu ft fridge, a microwave, a stove and sink, an 11 gal fresh tank and an outside shower. Setup takes about 30 seconds.

The GO's 810 lb carrying capacity is generous for its size, and it rides on a torsion axle with a full-size spare.
