Palomino Backpack HS-8801 vs Bigfoot 25C10.4
The difference that matters
Truck load and tanks set these hard-side campers apart. The Backpack HS-8801 weighs 2,575 lb dry and fits three-quarter-ton trucks with 6.5 to 8 ft beds. The Bigfoot 25C10.4 is 3,220 lb and is the long-box model. Both are about 18 ft overall.
The Bigfoot is the expedition-grade box. Its two-piece molded fiberglass shell has no seams over the cab, R8 insulation, heated and enclosed tanks, a 30,000 BTU furnace and a four-season rating. Tanks hold 39 gal fresh, 32 gray and 21 black, far beyond the Palomino's 21, 5 and 6.5, and it comes with 400 W of solar.
The Palomino brings a welded aluminum frame, a 100 Ah lithium battery with 200 W of solar, an 11 cu ft 12V fridge, a wet bath and an outside shower. It sleeps four.
