nuCamp TAG Boondock vs Happier Camper HC1 Studio

nuCamp · Teardrop

The difference that matters

Bathroom or not decides this pair. The HC1 Studio has a built-in bathroom with a shower and Dry-Flush toilet, an indoor kitchenette with a sink, two-burner stove and fridge drawer, and a forced-air heater that also heats water. It holds 17 gal fresh and 17 gal gray, and its Adaptiv floor uses a 3 by 3 modular grid inside a double-hull fiberglass shell.

The TAG Boondock is the classic teardrop: a bed inside and a rear galley under the hatch with a stainless sink, two-burner stove and 30 L 12 V cooler. It comes with 180 W of solar, a 100 Ah lithium battery, A/C, a power roof fan, a 70 by 78 in split mattress, an external shower and off-road tires with a pitched axle.

The weights are close at 1,626 lb against 1,800 lb, and the TAG's hitch is a light 192 lb. The HC1 Studio stands nearly a foot taller.

nuCamp TAG Boondock: Outside cooks camping off grid as a couple, wanting solar, lithium and off-road tires on a light teardrop.
Happier Camper HC1 Studio: Campers who want an indoor bathroom and shower plus heat in a small, light fiberglass trailer.
