The difference that matters

Bathroom and heat are the dividing lines. The TAB 400 Boondock is a small trailer with a wet bath including toilet and shower, an Alde heating and hot water system, a central heat-pump air conditioner and a 4.6 cu ft compressor fridge. Its Convenience Package brings 310 W of solar, a 100 Ah lithium battery and a 1,200 W inverter. It weighs 2,885 lb dry with a 450 lb hitch.

The Luna is a classic teardrop on an aluminum cage frame, 1,110 lb lighter at 1,775 lb with a 260 lb hitch. It has a rear galley with solid-surface counters, a two-burner cooktop and a 40 L fridge, an 8,000 BTU air conditioner and a panoramic front windshield. Heat comes from an electric fireplace, so it needs shore power to warm up, and a cassette toilet is optional.

Water shows the gap: 25 gal fresh, 17 gray and 14 black on the TAB against 8.5 gal fresh on the Luna.
