The difference that matters

Teardrops of the same 15-foot length aimed at different ground. The TAB 320 is a stand-in camper with a cassette toilet and molded sink, Alde heat and hot water, a 10,000 BTU central air conditioner, tank heaters, an expandable split bed, dual roof solar panels with a 100Ah lithium battery, and off-road tires on a pitched axle. It weighs 2,110 lb dry with a 186 lb hitch.

The Black Bean weighs 2,500 lb and is built for trails: Timbren independent suspension with a 2-inch lift, 20 inches of ground clearance, a Cruisemaster articulating coupler, 30-inch all-terrain tires with a full-size spare and a one-piece molded fiberglass shell. It has a rear galley, an 18-gallon fresh tank and a 105Ah lithium battery with a 1,500 W inverter; air conditioning, Truma heat and a 130 W panel are options. It sleeps two on a queen.

For comfort at the campsite, with heat, air and a toilet, the TAB. For rough roads, the Black Bean.
