The difference that matters

Pavement or trail sets the direction here. The Black Bean is built for rough roads: a one-piece molded fiberglass shell, Timbren 3500 independent suspension with a 2 in lift and 20 in of ground clearance, an articulating Cruisemaster coupler and 30 in all-terrain tires with a full-size spare. It comes with a 105 Ah lithium battery and a 1,500 W inverter.

The TAB 320 LITE is the lighter and more climate-ready camper at 1,670 lb with a 187 lb hitch. It includes a 10,000 BTU air conditioner, an LP furnace and water heater, a 2.3 cu ft fridge and a two-burner stove, plus a roof solar panel and a 71 by 72 in bed with a large wardrobe. It has off-road tires and a pitched axle, though not the Bean's suspension.

On the Black Bean, air conditioning and heat are options. Fresh tanks are near equal at 19 and 18 gal, and the TAB adds a 17 gal gray tank.
