Airstream Bambi 16RB vs Oliver Legacy Elite
The difference that matters
Cargo is the line that splits these two single-axle trailers. The Bambi 16RB weighs 3,150 lb dry on a 3,500 lb GVWR, leaving 350 lb of carrying capacity for water, gear and food. The Oliver Legacy Elite starts heavier at 3,700 lb but is rated to 5,000 lb, so it can be loaded for long trips without flirting with its limit. Its tongue weight is lower too, 370 lb against the Bambi's 475.
The Oliver is built as a double-hulled fiberglass shell with the tanks and drain lines enclosed and heated between the layers, and it rides on 10-ply tires with a full spare. The Bambi has a heated aluminum underbelly but is not rated for all-season use. Inside, the Bambi sleeps four to the Oliver's three, and it arrives with 100 W of solar and a 2.5 kWh heated lithium bank, both of which are options on the Oliver.
