Northern Lite
Kelowna, British Columbia is home to Northern Lite, started in 1989 by builders from another fiberglass camper maker who set out to make a fiberglass camper for import pickups. The line later grew to full-size trucks. The factory burned down in February 2014 and was rebuilt, reopening that December.
The shell is made like a boat hull: gelcoat sprayed into a mold, backed with chopped fiberglass and resin, in two halves joined into a clamshell. That leaves few seams and keeps the weight low in the camper. Both models on this site are Limited Edition units the maker rates four-season. The 8-11EX LE Wet Bath is about 16 feet long and 3,100 lb dry; the 10-2EX LE Dry Bath is about 18 feet and 3,560 lb, the extra length buying a separate shower and toilet.
